Can't set up accounts in Social settings (8 posts)

Hi, I am unable to add accounts in the Social settings page, Twitter allows me to log in but nothing shows up and the same thing happens with Facebook, although sometimes the pop up window just closes before loading. This has also been happening on the front end too, using my facebook account I can't log in but using another account I can.

I am however able to add accounts to users through their profile settings page.

Any help would be great, thanks.

    Hey Christian!

Are you seeing any errors with the popups? Would you mind sending us a link to your site so we can have a peek at what's going on with the front end, as well?

Give us a shout back and we'll be happy to help!

I was having this same issue and was banging my head against the wall, but I found a solution, at least for me. I was doing some URL rewriting via .htaccess. After authorization at Facebook or Twitter the response_url that redirects you back to the settings on your own site was getting munged, eliminating the bits that inform the plugin about the successful authorization.

I temporarily removed all my rewrite rules, did the authorizations, which now worked fine, and then put my rules back in place.

Looks like I'm set now, and ready to try out the actual functionality of the plugin.

Of course, regular users logging in also gets munged by my rewrite rules, and I can't get around that by temporarily disabling them. So I'm now working on adjusting my rewrite rules to try to not mess anything up. Fun.
