That’s correct and supposed to happen. I’m looking into a way to disable that button.

Reason to this is that a Smart Block is not a standalone object. It can not be used outside a widget, or a containing post or page. That way, it can not be indexed by Google, or be visited by site visitors.

Perhaps there should be a way to ‘preview’ the contents of a Smart Block, some way… Thanks for the idea!

    Hello Coen,
you are absolutely right. For me this is not any problem, it was just notice for perfectionists.

It seems the buttons have IDs “view-post-btn” and “post-preview”. I think the CSS solution “display:none;” is quite sufficient for this purpose. It would be necessary to enque the script only for “edit.php?post_type=smartblock” location, probably via some $_GET string test?

    Thanks for this plugin.

Thanks for the idea, but I believe this should be done in a more compatible way. Hiding the button with CSS is a bit dirty. When Custom Post Types aren’t standalone viewable (it’s a parameter in the Custom Post Type declaration), the button shouldn’t be shown, I think.
