Smart Slug
[resolved] Doesn't work if I publish the post directly? (6 posts)

Hi, I've just noticed the plugin didn't change my slug as I created a post and published it directly without saving it first. Do I really need to always save as draft before publishing?

Scrap that, it's not working at all for me.

It shows the updated slug below the title when editing the post, but when I publish it uses the original slug as if I didn't have the plugin installed.

It's a shame the developer is not here to help. Just marked the plugin as broken. :-(

Smart Slug does not require to publish a post as "draft" but works on any post status.

If this does not work on your site you might check whether other plugins interfere by concurrently modifying the slug.

I sincerely don't see any current plugins I use that might interfere with it. How can I quickly check if it's working or not, by disabling and enabling a few at a time? Thanks.

Just updated to the latest version and tried it again. It's working for some posts, but not for others, and I think I know why.

Here's one it didn't work on:

Removing the arrow (↪) in the title from the slug was one of the reasons I looked for a plugin like this.

Is it possible to make it work with it? Thanks.
