I’m having some issues figuring out how to actually add slides from a NextGen Gallery (an excellent idea to support it by the way). Once I select a gallery from which to ad slides I’m not sure where to go from there. The “Use as featured image” link is a mystery and when I click on the “Insert Into Post” button it simply takes me to a blank page that never does anything. Whether that is an issue of my browser or the plugin I do not know. Some kind of tutorial for this part of the plugin may be helpful.

Also, I’m not sure how the NextGen gallery support is supposed to work at this point but if you could add support for adding images from an Album that would be awesome. One of my biggest issues with NextGen is that it cannot do a slideshow for an album; only galleries and the ability to do so would be very helpful for both myself and my clients.

I’ve installed the NextGEN plugin and it does indeed add a tab to the default WordPress image uploader. This does not (yet) have anything to do with the Slideshow plugin but it would be a neat feature to support, given how huge a plugin the NextGEN gallery is.

I’m going to look into this and schedule the feature for the 2.1.0 release, since I’m trying to release the upcoming version 2.0.0 as soon as possible.

For the moment you’ll have to use the WordPress uploader.

I hope this answers your question.

It does. I think I was just uncertain on where a plugin specific uploader ends and the generic wordpress uploader ends.

I wouldn’t worry so much about NextGEN; it’s a beast. There is, at least for me, a need for a slideshow plugin which is capable of loading slide images from one or more folders. Lazyest Gallery comes close to this but it only allows for showing slides from a single folder and has little to no per-slideshow or transition customization. This leads to situations where I have to upload images twice; once for gallery use and a second time for use in slideshows. It’s wasteful and will be irritating for my client who will be managing the site.
