Support » Fixing WordPress » [Plugin: Slideshow Satellite] Upload Image files

  • I’m certainly doing something very silly because I can not import/upload pictures to my newly created gallery. In the tab “Uload Images/Upload and OrderImages” I click “Select Files”, then I select the ones I want -> “Open”, and nothing happens. The gallery is still empty. Also got the error “Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach ()in/home/mydomain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/slideshow-satellite/models/slide.php on line 206.
    I’m definitely doing something wrong!
    Can anyone help me please?
    Thank you.

  • Site URL?

I have already tested several plugins. I just want one that makes a slideshow of my galleries, with a title and a description for each image … could it be so difficult? I believed this would be the one, but why can’t I upload my images?
    Thank you.

Hmm…. I would try a different Browser Rui. It is the same upload tool that WordPress uses and has a whole bunch of different ways it can work dependant on the browser being used. Hopefully switching that will make it work in a different way that will work for you.

I’m not sure that I understood exactly what you told me, but I tried it on Safari and the result was exactly the same, I give up. I’ll keep looking.
    Thank you anyway.

I’ve mainly tested in firefox and chrome, but haven’t had an issue there btw

    Can you try this?

    1. deactivate all plugins except the Slideshow Satellite plugin
    2. Revert to Twenty Eleven theme

After the above steps, try to upload images or try to use the images in your media library.

    Hey Rui

    Try the ‘Portfolio Slideshow’ plugin.

It’s really easy to use. Once you upload your images for a particular page, then you type
[portfolio_slideshow] onto your page and hey presto.

You can go into the settings and change the timings etc.

Thank you CPRES, thank you KRISHNA, for your support and commitment, I followed your suggestions, but it did not work. I believe that the problem is any “strange” setting in my browser, or even some system configurations I changed. I’ll start there. Thank you DENISMCD, for the kind suggestion, I’ll try it and eventually solve the problem.
    The best to you all.

Don’t listen to Denismcd, Satellite can do the same thing with using the WordPress image gallery instead of the custom galleries. He’s from the competition! All you’ll get is less customization. 🙂

    Hey Rui

    I’m not any ‘competition’

    my site is

it’s a school! you’ll see the portfolio slideshow working on it.

Did you ever solve your problem? What plugin did you use, was it easy?

Thank you for you kindness Deniscmd. I am a beginner here and don’t know much about plugins and widgets and all that stuff. So I am allways digging and testing. I realized that neither portfolio slideshow nor satellite are the most the convenient to show what I want as I want it. Now I am making some tests with WP e-Commerce and WPEC GridView. It’s not free, but yet it’s not much expensive; is friendly and I think that matches my goals.
    Thank you again.
