[Plugin: Slideshow Satellite] Can't figure out how to insert plugin

I’ve been trying to insert the slideshow into my main page, but I can’t figure it out. I looked at the manuel and I found the php code but it wont work. I can insert the slideshow into a post, but my main page isn’t a post. Is there a way that I can insert it into a php page? I’m using the Standard theme if that helps. Thanks!
