• I’m really on WP 3.4.1 but it’s not offering that option yet.

    First, it would be REALLY nice if you’d put something in the changelog to indicate users have to go through all their default [slideshow] shortcodes and add post_id=”#” in order for this to work after the upgrade. I would have done that *before* upgrading if I’d known. (Also, is it really necessary? why change this? it worked so well before and was so easy to explain to non-techie users!)

    But okay, even after making that change, it doesn’t work. This is what I see – a blank black box: http://www.utexas.edu/ssw/test-slideshow-page/

    If you look at the code in Firebug it’s loading the unordered list of all the images correctly, just not displaying them. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks so much – and sorry for the rant. 🙂

  • I have to eco this issue–I can’t seem to get it to work! I’m just trying to embed the slideshow in a post. After I upgraded, I just get the black box, too. Help!

    Still having the issue … narrowed it down to resizeimages=”true”. If that’s not set, the images appear, albeit full-size; if it is set, black box.

    mmcginnis, I don’t know if we’re having the same problem, but I just updated WP (to 3.4.2) and Slideshow Gallery today (for the first time since May) and my slideshow does not show up at all. I had [slideshow] inserted on a page which played a slideshow of all images in wordpress “media library” – I didn’t have to add images where the Slideshow plugin says “manage images” “manage galleries”. In fact, I was never able to add/save images or manage galleries that way. I uploaded images and the plugin told me they weren’t there.

    So, I’m wondering if I can update my code to what they’re saying, like [slideshow post_id=”X”] what do I put in the quotes? Can the post id be the page name? As in http://terminalservicemusic.com/images/ – so the code is [slideshow post_id=”images”] ? Sorry, I’m picking up html but I don’t have much experience yet.

    Having the same issue. A thread popped up about this the other day where several people were reporting the same thing

    Supposedly an issue with something called Timthumb?

    @mmcginnis,

    If you turn off the “Resize Images” setting and the images work then, it indicates that the TimThumb is having an issue as kreansocerplayer indicated with his link.
