[Plugin: Slidepost] Not very practical

  • This plugin is a resource hog. Rather than embed nicely in to a page, it bullies it’s way in and takes over. The sliding animation works fine, however the fact that it can’t be embedded in to a page or post makes this plugin fairly useless in my opinion. The whole purpose of scrolling through the posts is to hopefully interest your readers in to checking out something that they may have overlooked – with this plugin a reader has to actively seek out the slideshow page in order to see thumbnails of articles scrill by. I really don’t see that as being practical. Also, I doubt many people will click past the screen resolution page. I would prefer to pre-select the resolution, and have the slider embed through the use of a shortcode.

Sorry for the miss-communication, but this plugin was designed to display posts on a TV screen. We are currently using this plugin very successfully to display WordPress managed real estate listings in a local cafe. It was never my intention for users to browse the page and click on the resolutions, that’s for the admin to do. We run our plugin in Chrome on a small netbook attached to an LCD, and it works great.

I really like managed a kiosk display from a website. It allows you to very easily update the content remotely.

I should probably make the plugins purpose much clearer.

    Thanks for your comments.
