Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean a demo page or the source code? The post I want the quiz on isn’t published yet, so you wouldn’t be able to see that…
By demo page, I just mean a link to the page with the problem so that I can see it in action.
Since your page isn’t published yet, I would need the source code. So you will need to:
1. Preview your post
2. right click on the page
3. select “View Source” (or something similar depending on the browser)
4. copy all the code that you see into the text box on http://pastehtml.com/
5. click “Publish” at the bottom of the pastehtml.com page
6. click “Publish” again on the next preview page at pastehtml.com
7. copy and paste the link you get on the last page here
Ah, thanks for the tutorial! Here is the link for the test post:
@thebusybibliophile – I took a look at the page and I don’t see any references to SlickQuiz in the code, can you make sure to put the [slickquiz id=1] shortcode on the page and then preview the page? Then follow steps 2-7 again for me.
It’s on line 269 of the one above, but just in case, I’ve made a new one. The slickquiz code is between the ( ), line 226:
When I try something different, like use ‘:’ instead of ‘=’, I can see the error message (Sorry. The requested quiz could not be found.). But if it’s right, nothing shows.
Hmm interesting, can you paste the code into http://pastebin.com/ ?
I’m having trouble seeing things properly with the way pastehtml caches things – I have never used it before and I only sent you to that one because pastebin.com was down the other day.
Also, could you let me know what version of WordPress you’re using? What version of SlickQuiz?
Thanks for your patience!
WordPress 3.4.1, Blissful Child Theme.
Thank you for helping me get this right!
@thebusybibliophile – Alright, it seems like another plugin is breaking on the page before the quiz script can run. The broken plugin is called something like “easing slider.”
If you can, try disabling that plugin and previewing the quiz page again. I’d expect disabling the plugin to fix the issue.
It’s fixed! Thank you so much, there’s no way I would have figured that out on my own.
I love how it looks on my post. Thank you!
🙂 Awesome! Hopefully you weren’t using the easing slider plugin for anything. I checked a few other pages of your site and the code seemed to be breaking on them too so it’s likely it hasn’t worked for a while.
Nah, I tried it but was never happy with it so I never used it for real. I’m getting rid of it now, though.
I’m getting an Uncaught TypeError: Object #<Object> has not method ‘slickQuiz’ error at http://countyprogress.zacpubs.com/ any suggestions?
