  • Resolved opiewoohoo

I apologize in advance – I’m a total noob at wordpress. Please have mercy on me and my ill-informed questions!

I really like the functionality of Simple Real Estate Pack, but am using a template that is not widget-ready. Since I don’t have the ability to use widgets, I am putting in shortcodes.

However, when I look at the page, it is horribly ugly and contains no information.

    My questions are:

    1) How do I enter the property information (ie address, city, listing price, etc.)

    2) How do I make the plugin use my current template style instead of the glitchy green backgrounds and blue hyphens?

    3) Am I missing anything else?

    My website is:

If anyone could help, I would be forever grateful! =)

    Hi Andrew,

first of all let me mention this – widgets have been introduced into WordPress since “dinosaurs roamed the Earth” 🙂 So, I would strongly recommend to make your theme widget-ready. I don’t even think you can find a non-widget ready theme that works with WordPress 3.0

    Now, to your questions:

    1. Property information is being managed by the Great Real Estate (GRE) plugin. That plugin has its own instructions on usage and setup –

    2. If you use GRE together with the SRP plugin, you need to create a custom listing template, which explained how to do here – scroll down to the section called “Extending GRE listings with SRP Neighborhood Profiles”. To avoid green styles, go into the GRE plugin’s settings page and make sure all checkboxes are turned off.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your quick reply and all the help you’ve provided to people. I’m really excited about all the functionality this plugin offers.

    In response to your response:
    1) I just found out that you can do [srp_profile attributes lat=”5.5″ lng=”-5.5″ address=”1234 Main Street” city=”Beverly Hills” state=”California” zip_code=”90210″ listing_price=”$8,000,000″ bedrooms=”20″]. This is the exact question I had and I have now figured it out. I’m creating just an individual listing page so I don’t need the GRE plugin.

    2) Thanks! I got rid of the green tabs.

If you can take a look at the “Details” page on my site,, I’m wondering just a couple things…

    A) My marker on the map has a bubble without any info in it (it should be the property info).

    B) 3 seconds after loading my Details page, whatever tab I’m on is left and the page returns to the map tab.

    C) Market Stats has a broken image – nothing shows up

    D) WalkScore isn’t working. It just says “Calculating”

    E) On the Schools tab, there is no spacing inbetween items – the school name is directly followed by the address as well as the website.

I’m so sorry about all the questions.
If I just need to hire someone to do custom CSS alterations, I can do that. I don’t want you to spend any extra time on this. But are the answers to all these questions just tweaking CSS and PHP?

    A. if you click on the main settings page of the plugin, there is a collapsed panel just before the Save Changes button – it’s called Available ShortCodes. This panel lists all the shortcodes and their syntaxes. [srp_profile] has a parameter called html. Try using that parameter for additional content in the infoWindow for the marker. I don’t remember exactly if that what it’s, but try and see.

    B. Yes, it will do that if you start clicking on the tabs before the data completely loaded everywhere. You can wait a bit and then click on the tabs, or you can turn off Ajax loading option on the main settings page of the plugin. This way the page will be loading slower, but it will load all the data together.

    C. Market stats only will show broken image in case if data is not available on Trulia or Altos Research. Try switching between the services and see if any of them have the data. You can do that by turning them on/off under Neighborhood settings.

    D. I see walkscore working on your site.

    E. Looks like the css of the theme and them plugin conflicting. You might need to adjust that.
