Hi fenfan, were you able to create the sidebar for the welcome page? If so, have you added any widgets to it?

Yes, I created a sidebar simply called “Front Page Sidebar” and then added two default widgets (Categories and Recent Posts). However, when I load the page, it still shows the main sidebar.

Hmm, I think the issue may be related to you having your posts listed on the front page. If I make a change to the plugin, would you be able to install it manually to test whether or not it works?

Yes, I would be able to test that here. Not a problem!

Sweet. Mind shooting me an email through the form at http://www.blazersix.com so I can send you the update?

    Done!

For posterity, this was resolved by adding wp_reset_query() after the loop of posts in the front page template.

Thanks to Brady for his help in the matter. Great plug-in!
