I’m sorry, I don’t understand your post. Could you clarify?

Sorry about that Otto. Issue is for the +1 button that can be placed either top/bottom/both. When a visitor click to +1 and share a post, it shows the thumbnail of the photo of that post but the plugin pulls a general image from the widget side. Hope that makes sense.

    edit: adding picture for reference

for example, if I google +1 this post, it shows the correct post thumbnail (“sonny” photo)

if using simple google connect, thumbnail would not point to “sonny” thumbnail, it would show unrelated thumbnail from the widget side. If I disable the widget area, no thumbnails show up.

SGC doesn’t have quite the same level of metadata capabilities that SFC has, but Google actually recognizes the OpenGraph metadata generated by Simple Facebook Connect.

For this reason, if you’re using SFC, then SGC will recognize that and *not* generate extra meta data, since Google works with the FB metadata just fine (better, in some ways).

If you’re not using SFC, then SGC will try to generate appropriate metadata, but as I stated, it’s an early version. It simply doesn’t have the complex meta capabilities that I’ve built into SFC yet.

So for the time being, I recommend running SFC for Facebook connectivity, and then you get the nice meta to be handled by Google as a bonus.

Thanks for the explanation Otto. Will give that a try.
