[Plugin: Simple Facebook Connect] Unexpected results

  • I have a WordPres blog and a fan page on Facebook. I want to display the acitvity on this Facebook page in a widget on my blog.

I create an app, sets up the site URL, domain, key and secret. So far so well. I enable the Live Stream Widget and place it in my sidebar.

What do I get? My personal profile image at the top and an invitation to discuss “this event”. I would expect the pofile image of the fan page and the latest status updates shown below.

This is the third time I try this plugin over a 6 months period, on different sites and fan pages. Evry time I just have to give up. I’m either stupid or this is just too buggy for practical use.

I end up using an IFRAME, generated by FB, in a text widget. Always works. I’s just to extensible to other forms of integration, like comments and posting, and in the long run that is what I want.

Any idea why this plugin doesn’t work for me?

The Live Stream widget is for events and live streams and such. If you want recent activity, then use the widget for that, not the Live Stream widget.
