[Plugin: Simple Facebook Connect] Post Title for Status Message

  • schruzelbruz

    hey otto,

is there any possibility to have the post title for status message on my facebook fan page? by hacking the plugin or maybe adding this function by you?

I need to have that function because mostly I write just short thoughts in post headline like a twitter message without any additional content and it would be much nicer to have that message in status instead of an empty status and a lonely link in the middle of a facebook post with a grey border on the left.

If you use the manual publisher button, you can put any message you want in before publishing the post.

The automatic publisher does not have a way to do this at present.

Would be very nice to have that. I don’t know how much work it is to add this function, but maybe you can put this on your agenda for one of your next releases. 😉

It can’t be added for manual at all. I tried. It didn’t work.

Adding it to the automatic was one line of code. Here’s an example of the result: https://www.facebook.com/ottopress/posts/10150333300928932

That’s really cool, thank you. The automatic publishing is all I need. 😉

Will you add the possibility to modify the style of the facebook post in SFC admin page? Maybe by modularity with shortcodes for the FB status line and the FB article content? (e.g. %title%, %link%, …)
Cause it would be nice to not have the post title twice on FB (status and article). Especially, if you just post a line in WP post title without any additional content.
