by default this plugin publish the actual video to facebook fan page i.e the users can watch the video on facebook and no need to come to website. I want to autopublish to behave same like the ” facebook share” or “facebook like” buttons do. these two only publish the thumbnail on facebook and not the actual video and redirect the users to website when they clik on it. can you please guide me how to make this change .

  • You probably should remplace the video type by an image type,
share the link to your blog page and not directly the video link.
    take a look to sfc-share.php and sfc-base.php

Juste change the core code with a test if (!function_exists …
and add your own functions in your theme template …

otto can you please guide me about this issue?

If you include a video, then yes, SFC includes the proper video tags to show the video on Facebook. This is done to improve the Facebook display and increase the scoring in order to get the post into Facebook’s News Feed for your readers.

For the specific case of youtube videos, it also includes the preview image, so Facebook can show that properly.

If you don’t want this, alter the sfc-base to have it return array(); at the beginning of the sfc_base_find_video function. I do not recommend doing this, since it lowers your readership.

This will *not* be included in the core SFC code, because most people want their posts to be scored higher and have a better chance of making it into their reader’s news feeds.
