Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps and click the Create New App button in the upper right corner.

You need to be logged in as a person, not as a business. Only people can create apps.

Thanks Otto – but if I as a person create an app, can I have it link to my business facebook account? Or do I really have to have my personal facebook stream on my company website?

I don’t know what you mean by a “business facebook account”.

The normal way people use Facebook is to have their own account, then use that to make Pages for their businesses. SFC can publish to Pages on Facebook and such just fine.

Facebook user accounts are connected to people, not to businesses.

What I mean is that I want my user activity feed, etc to be linked to http://www.facebook.com/BookThatEvent Not to my Jodi Book (personal account – which I’m not sure you can click here http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=674928872

I looked it up. Facebook “Business Accounts” cannot make Applications. You need to have a personal account to make an application, and you have to verify the personal account (using your cell phone or credit card) before you can do it.

Business Accounts appear to be kinda crap on Facebook, actually, since the only thing you can do with them is to make Pages. You can’t connect to them in any other way.

This is a Facebook “Page”: https://www.facebook.com/BookThatEvent

Pages are owned by one or more “accounts” on Facebook, and those persons can administer the content of that Page.

SFC can talk to Pages just fine, however, it must do that through an Application. Applications are the only way external sites can talk to Facebook.

Applications must be created by a real person’s account, not by a business account.

OK so my “business account” is a Page as you said. (sorry I get the lingo mixed up) On your instructions I don’t see anything that says how to post the PAGE. Right now it’s linked to Jodi Book, not to facebook.com/BookThatEvent….

So how do i get THAT feed to show INSTEAD of my JOdi Book

Get the page number of the page using the edit page link. Then fill in the fan page box with that number and save. Options will change around then.
