[Plugin: Simple Facebook Connect] Bug Report – Fan Page Publish and Simple Twitter Connect

  • Hey Otto,

    Just wanted to let you know about something I experienced when publishing posts to my FB fan page. I also use Simple Twitter Connect, and when I use the setting to have the Tweet button both before & after a post, SFC grabs that “Tweet” button as text for the beginning of the excerpt. You can see what I mean here (scroll to the oldest stories): http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Lazy-Caveman/127326800660754?sk=wall

    It also doesn’t pull in the dropcaps, but I think that’s an issue with my theme rather than your fine plugins.

    Cheers,
    Badier

  • Edit the tweet button plugin. Right at the top you’ll find the get_stc_tweetbutton() function. Edit this line:

    $out = "<a href='http://twitter.com/share?{$query}' class='twitter-share-button' data-text='{$text}' data-url='{$url}' data-counturl='{$counturl}' data-count='{$style}' data-via='{$source}'{$datarelated}>Tweet</a>";

    and change it to this:

    $out = "<a href='http://twitter.com/share?{$query}' class='twitter-share-button' data-text='{$text}' data-url='{$url}' data-counturl='{$counturl}' data-count='{$style}' data-via='{$source}'{$datarelated}></a>";

    That should remove the word “Tweet” from it.
