Support » Plugins and Hacks » [Plugin: Simple 301 Redirects] Breaks top level of main menu

  • I have a new site that sits in a subdirectory of the old site.

1 – The old site is still live.

2 – I installed and activated the 301 redirect plugin and filled in all the blanks.

3 – Once saved something strange happened.

4 – The TOP level of the main menu started throwing an error.

5 – However – the submenu links under the top level of the main menu work fine.

6 – The error I get is this:
    The page isn’t redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

7 – Now – here is an example of a top level menu links that break:

    /why-renaldo http://sunshine.org/newsite/why-renaldo/

8 – The first entry is relative to the current site http://sunshine.org/why-renaldo

9 – The second entry is the absolute link to the new page.

I DO have better wp security activate – but have the htaccess writeable.

I’m stumped. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!
