I must say that Shortcodes Ultimate has been by far one of the most useful and flexible plugins I’ve had the pleasure to use in many years of WP production. Well done!
There’s one thing that frustrates my lay user clients and myself alike: the obscured keywords for the labels in the WYSIWYG Dropmenu.
Examples (keywords bolded to show how the important word is buried and therefore difficult to find among so many options):
Styled image frame
Content for guests only
And many others where the keyword I need to find is difficult to locate since it’s not consistently presented where so many options clutter the field.
Arguably, many would be happy with just using the same single keyword list used in the Settings “Shortcodes” tab:
But if that’s too difficult for lay users who will often access the WYSIWYG drop menu, then I propose using both in a consistent format using all caps for the keyword to visually separate:
BOX: colored box
FRAME: styled image frame
HEADING: styled heading
This way experienced people who want to quickly find the relevant keyword can easily locate the right option and those who need more info can read the appending descriptive bit.
Most importantly, this allows for displaying them in alphabetical order!
And all you have to do is add a bit of text in one drop menu HTML block in a php file!
Thanks again for the great work on a useful plugin!
