 * I would REALLY like to use Shadowbox on the WP site I’m trying to build at [http://danacoopermusic.com](http://danacoopermusic.com)–
   but I’m afraid that Dana has chosen a an obscure theme that is thwarting my best-
   laid plans.
 * I just tried to install shadowbox-js, but after running the installation routine,
   I got this error:
 * >>Could not create directory. /mnt/files/d/danacoopermusic.com/www/wp/wp-content/
   plugins/shadowbox-js/
 * Plugin Install Failed.<<<
 * Now, I don’t know if that’s something that this theme (it’s called ModiOne) is
   causing, or if I’ve got something screwy in my configuration file, or…what?
 * What is all this /mnt/file/d/…?? My WordPress directory is danacoopermusic.com/
   wp, although the root directory above /wp is indeed www. So danacoopermusic.com/
   www/wp should be right. So why won’t the plug-in install?
 * Could it have anything to do with this cockeyed theme? I’ve already run into
   limitations with the theme – like I had to change some code just to get it to
   recognize widgets in the side bar. Do I need to do something also to get it to
   handle plugins, too?
 * Mystified… this is beyond me, I can use WordPress, but I can’t sit here all night
   and try to figure out why things don’t work.
 * Can somebody please suggest a solution that might work?
 * Thanks,
 * –PS

 * Another note, I wonder if the problem has something to do with the re-direct
   of the WP directory, so that the root directory would be the WP site. This is
   what I’ve got in my “General” settings.
 * WordPress address (URL) [http://www.danacoopermusic.com/wp](http://www.danacoopermusic.com/wp)
 * Blog address (URL) [http://www.danacoopermusic.com](http://www.danacoopermusic.com)
 * I went through the various hoops I had to go through to get that to work, but
   is that what’s now causing this problem with the plug-in install?
 * Is there a “manual” way to install the plug-in instead?
 * Thanks,

 * Could you install other plugins before or is this the first plugin you are trying
   to install?
    You can upload the plugin manually to /wp-content/plugins/ and then
   activate it through your admin backend.
 * “Could not create directory.” I had the same problem and did this: [Could not create directory – Plugin Install Failed](http://stuff24.de/blog/wordpress-could-not-create-directory-plugin-install-failed/)
