We have just started using RS with 15 000 subscribers and 5 authors. There will be no restrictions on the subscribers but authors will be restricted to certain categories – that we have resolved already. The problem is with the amount of users the editing of posts under admin control is very, very slow as it needs to load all the users first. We have added custom functions to remove the authors meta-box but it is not helping at all. Is there a way to disable the loading of the subscribers(check-boxes) when editing under admin?

The following option is available to disable the excessive user checkboxes:

Roles > Options > Advanced > Role Assignment Interface > Users CSV Entry

Thanks Kevin, that did the trick!

    Hello Kevin,

we use version 1.3.57 on WordPress Multisite, it’s activated only on one of the sites.

In Roles > Options > Advanced > Role Assignment Interface there is no “Users CSV Entry”. I had to search the plugin code for scoper_get_option( ‘user_role_assignment_csv’ ) and replace it with true. To enable this.

And that actually didn’t switched the interface to CSV editing – but at least thousands of checkboxes were not appearing. We have around 3,000 users, so at least it’s not all appearing when you edit a page.

Could you please double check if this still works in the recent plugin versions?

    Thanks,
    Martin

The issue was with activation on a single network site without network-wide activation. In that case the options which default to network-wide control cannot be modified from defaults. This is fixed in RS Development Code (1.3.58-dev). I plan to release 1.3.58 within the next week.

    Hello Kevin,

    that’s good news, thank you!

    Martin
