[Plugin: Role Scoper] how much work is Role Scoper to set up?

  • I’m bidding on an RFP for a site for a small elementary school. They need dedicated, private content for multiple roles, such as: parents, teachers, students, and public visitors. These roles have to be completely separate from WP’s built-in roles.

Taking a quick look, it seems that this is exactly the sort of use that Role Scoper was intended for. But I’m hesitant to bid on a job that heavily depends on a plugin that I’ve not used before. I did install RS on my own site, but without a large base of users and lots of categorized content, I don’t see how I can properly test it.

Can anyone advise me on how much work will it be to set up a medium size site with RS, and what pitfalls to look out for?

  • And I have one question about navigation: if a user logs in, can restricted site content be made to appear on the main bar? Or does each user role require a dedicated nav bar?

Role Scoper filters nav menu display, hiding posts and pages which are not readable by the currently logged user.
