Hello, first thanks for great plugin.

Yesterday my shared host was hacked and many sites were down. My also πŸ™ Since database wasn’t touched (only files were removed) I have easily managed to almost completely restore web site from backup.

Now only Contact Form 7 is not working. If I try to install fresh copy thru WP interface error is displayed. And if try to copy latest working plugin folder, WP doesn’t see it under plugin admin area.

I would like to try to remove database table and all related Contact Form 7 rows. Maybe they are interfering with fresh install.

My question is, are there any CF 7 data beside table “wp_contact_form_7” stored in database? And do you think it is safe to remove plugin that way ( just not to brake the site again)?

    Thank you in advance.

Contact Form 7 data is stored in wp_posts and wp_postmeta tables as Custom Post Type. The wp_contact_form_7 table is no longer used in the latest versions.

Basically you don’t need to mind about database when you install the plugin. I guess you failed to install because you had a wrong file or placed it to the wrong directory.
