Hello, I have a little issue with your WordPress pluggin ‘Responsive Image Maps’ version 1.1; it works with Firefox, Chrome and IExplorer, but with this one the map appears unresized, image related is ok. You can see the undesirable effect clicking on any maped area of the head image, the web site is “orquestaazahar.tk”
Can you tell me what can I do?
Thanks in advance and best regards.
Which browser is it not working in? Everything seems to work fine for me when I visit your site.
IExplorer, version 9, you can see when click on any maped zone, appears the map traces at the top and right, because map is not resized. With Firefox or Chrome the image (jpg) and the map is resized ok.
the map traces appears at the BOTTOM and right of the image, sorry for my mistake.
Hi, when I view your site in IE9, while the tooltips are loading the background image momentarily shows through. Is that what you’re referring to? Otherwise, I can’t see any problems (see screenshot: http://i47.tinypic.com/2c11n9.jpg ) Does this happen if the plugin is disabled?
Sorry for the delay. No, no resizing deffect I see is another. If I disable the pluggin simply not resize the picture or the image map, I’ve tried before.
If you see the image link (http://i45.tinypic.com/hx9n5k.jpg) will see the ‘hand’ (cursor) is pointing outside the mapped area, however the related image appears (‘Pepin’), because the ‘image map’ is not resized in the same proportion as the related image.
I noticed that this happens if the screen resolution is 1024×600, in my case (netbook). Decreasing the zoom below 100% on the same screen, the picture is well proportioned and also image map. In the same netbook, and Mozilla Firefox, this error does not occur.
With resolutions of 1280×1024 or more it does not, so I checked.
I tried two different netbooks and is exactly the same, so the conflict is almost certainly with Internet Explorer (in this case version 8). Maybe if you can try with a netbook can reproduce the defect that I explain.
I see. Looks like there’s a bug with IE8 and the RWDImageMaps jQuery plugin itself. The WordPress plugin is just a wrapper for the jQuery plugin, so there’s really nothing I can do until the jQuery plugin is fixed. Hopefully its author will update it soon, and as soon as that happens I’ll update the WordPress plugin with the new code.
I’ve been looking at ‘https://github.com/stowball/jQuery-rwdImageMaps/blob/master/jquery.rwdImageMaps.min.js’
and I saw that there are some differences in the code that there is published, with respect to pluggin for WordPress, but do not know how this is relevant or not.
Thank you very much for your attention, I will be awaiting any news on this.
You can try replacing the content of
/wp-content/plugins/responsive-image-maps/jquery.rwdImageMaps.min.jswith the code from that URL, however the code should be the same unless the author has updated his code without making a formal release of the plugin. Worth a try.
yes the code seem identical. I was opened the two files with Notepad++, but I don’t see any difference between the codes. Anyway I tried to replace it.
I think we can take for this matter closed until there is more news.
Okay. I’ll post back when there’s an update available.
Hi Juan, just wanted to let you know that Matt has updated the RWD image maps jQuery plugin to include IE8 support, so I’ve updated my WordPress plugin with the new version. The update should show up in your WordPress dashboard.
