So, with the public side of things, our plugin needs two small files – one CSS (14 KB) and one JS (2 KB). In the PRO version, Ajax requests kick in only when the Progress Bar is outside the auto-refresh zones of Cart/Checkout. In these cases, any changes to the cart or checkout triggering free shipping calculations prompt the ajax request.
But, in the free version, no ajax requests happen. The Progress Bar simply keeps up with the cart/checkout changes on the fly.
