[Plugin: Relevanssi – A Better Search] Search using quotes – "search term"

    Hi,

The plugin works fine on single words and phrases, but when I enter a search term in quotes. E.g. “Title Deed”, the search result page shows \\\”Title Deed\\\” found in 0 news articles.

Has anyone any thoughts on what might be causing this?

    Thanks,

Well, quotes getting slashed is a common sign of sloppy programming, but I’m not having any problems like this, so it’s probably something in your PHP setup that is not compatible with Relevanssi. Quotes work for me, I’ve never seen that happen… Hard to say how to fix it, sorry.

    Thanks msaari,

My hosting services provider upgraded my server PHP 5.2.10 a couple of days ago – I guess there may be some problems with its setup.

After some investigation, there seems to be a clash between Relevanssi and the ‘cbnet Different Posts Per Page’ plugin.

Both work together OK on my XAMPP environment running PHP version 5.3.1, but on my live site which runs PHP version 5.2.10, I hit the problem.

As soon as I disable ‘cbnet Different Posts Per Page’ on my live site, Relevanssi works fine.

Yeah, looks like something that won’t work with Relevanssi.
