Support » Plugin: Relevanssi - A Better Search » [Plugin: Relevanssi – A Better Search] Results missing when search includes common terms

  • I’m searching on two terms without quotes. One term is very common. The other term is relatively common. However, there is only one post where both terms appear in the title and the title weight is now set to 100. I have the default operator set to “AND” with “OR” fallback turned on.

This search returns only two results, neither of which is the post with both words in the title. If I search with the terms in quotes, the correct post (and only that post) is returned. What’s going on?

Does it work if you disable the OR fallback?

I gave that a try, but I’m still getting the same results.

Strange problem. Does the post with both terms appear in results for both terms, ie. is it indexed properly? You can take a look at the database, search in wp_relevanssi for the post ID in the doc column. Do both words appear in the database for that post?

Is it possible the very common term is a stopword?
