I’ve installed the plugin but cannot find a search widget – i wonder if your plugin uses a default wordpress search widget which i’ve accidentally deleted?

any help how to restore this or other ideas appreciated

    thanks

Yes, Relevanssi doesn’t provide a search widget. Go to any WordPress blog and copy their search box code or get one from some plugin, I’m sure there’s a search widget plugin out there.

thanks i get that — i installed activated and indexed but the search is still the basic search — I have to alter some lines of php or do something else somewhere?

No, all it takes is activating and indexing. No changes to templates are necessary.

thanks – but i’m unsure then why the puhin does not seem to alter the search results on my site http://www.250textbooks.co.uk ?

It is changing the search results, at least there’s search term highlighting. Also, search results are not in date order. Looks fine to me. What were you expecting?

no I see its doing that now thank you – some of the examples of the plug ins use there seems to be a dedicated search results page which looks like better and more useful than mine – i will try changing settings
