I've installed the plugin but cannot find a search widget - i wonder if your plugin uses a default wordpress search widget which i've accidentally deleted?

any help how to restore this or other ideas appreciated

    thanks

Yes, Relevanssi doesn't provide a search widget. Go to any WordPress blog and copy their search box code or get one from some plugin, I'm sure there's a search widget plugin out there.

thanks i get that -- i installed activated and indexed but the search is still the basic search -- I have to alter some lines of php or do something else somewhere?

No, all it takes is activating and indexing. No changes to templates are necessary.

It is changing the search results, at least there's search term highlighting. Also, search results are not in date order. Looks fine to me. What were you expecting?

no I see its doing that now thank you - some of the examples of the plug ins use there seems to be a dedicated search results page which looks like better and more useful than mine - i will try changing settings
