[Plugin: RelatedPosts] Excluding tags

I wonder if there is a way to exclude certain tags from being used with this plugin.

Lets say I am blogging about movies and have used the tags for rating as well as directors, and I want to exclude the tags 1, 2 through 10 from relating posts, but still wish the other tags (directors) to relate them.

Is there a way?
