[Plugin: Redirection] Redirect a folder and redirect a variable path

  • I have two specific redirections I am struggling with. The first should be easy, but I can’t seem to get it to work.

I had a path [url]/top-category/[other-categories]/[postname] and I’ve dropped the top level category from the permalinks, so I want all posts with that category to redirect to [url]/[other-categories]/[postname].

The second one is trickier. If the path ends in [filename] (e.g. style.css) I want to redirect to a specific path. Not sure how to do this at all. For example, source is [url]/top-category/other-category/style.css, I want it to redirect to where the CSS file really resides. This is to correct some unknown bug that’s causing 404s.

Someone may know what that bug is – I get a lot of log reports of attempts to load CSS files from themes that don’t exist on my site. Also I get log reports with the permalink plus /style.css on the end.
