• Hi all,

I’m new to the Redirection plugin, and unless I’m missing something obvious, I can’t seem to figure out how to tell the plugin to create a redirect for my root URL if the URL is arrived at via a link from another site.

Here’s my situation: I have an old WordPress site, and a new WordPress site on a new domain. I want to redirect people who land on the old site to the new site. To do this, I am creating redirects for each of the 10 or so pages that I have on my old site.

I have selected to Match “URL and referrer”, and have filled out the other boxes and saved. What happens is this:

    – When I attempt to go to my root URL by typing it into my browser, the redirect works (I end up on my new site, which was the intended goal)
    – When I go to a site that links to me and click on one of their links to my site, I end up on my old site (i.e. no redirect occurs).

Am I missing something here? How can I set this up so that if someone clicks on a link to my old site on someone else’s site, they are automatically redirected to my new site?

    Thanks very much in advance!
