Support » Plugin: Redirection » [Plugin: Redirection] Auto-created redirect to homepage

  • I am using the Redirect plugin on a multilingual site that uses WPML for the multilingual functionality.

    Something very strange is happening:

Each time I add a post in Swedish (the secondary language) a redirect is automatically created.

This is a redirect from the Swedish (secondary language) homepage:
    http://www.bkwine.com/sv/
to the just created post in Swedish. This makes it impossible to reach the Swedish homepage.

This happens with “URL Monitoring … Monitor new posts” both turned on and turned off.

So the effect of this is that anyone who tries to go to the Swedish home page (e.g. from a search) lands on the most recent post.

The primary language (English, with the home page http://www.bkwine.com) does not have this behaviour.

    Can you help?

  • To try and fix this, I removed all redirections, uninstalled and removed the plugin and cleared all caches.

    I then reinstalled the plugin.

The same thing happens again. When I create a new post in Swedish (the secondary language) a redirect is created (automatically, by the plugin) that redirects from the Swedish home page (http://www.bkwine.com/sv/) to the recently created Swedish post. (The option “Monitor new posts” is currently turned off.)
