    When I installed the “Recent Posts with Excerpts” plugin, my wp-simpleviewer slideshow stopped working, instead dsiplaying the shortcode.

    How bizarre! My widget does not interact with WordPress’s shortcode functions in any way. I just installed wp-simpleviewer on my test site, and it works perfectly with the widget enabled.

    Have you changed anything else that might affect shortcodes?
