[Plugin: Quick Chat] chat users profile avatars issue

  • first of all great plugin !!

Install and everything else fine, I checked the use gravatar option in settings and user list.

My chat is only shown to and used by registered / logged in users so no need to worry about that however, although chat members gravatars are shown in the chat stream none of the site members (who have their own profile pics) are being displayed..?

Is there a setting I’m not using properly?

    regards

    Hello my friend,
WordPress by default (without additional plugins) supports only gravatar.com avatars so does Quick Chat. Supporting local avatars would be complicated and server resource intensive and that’s why gravatar.com is used by WordPress by default. It is a lot of extra work and it would result in Quick Chat being more resource intensive for all users (those who use gravatar.com and those who use local avatars). Quick Chat is open source application so you can add this functionality your self and maybe submit it for inclusion into Quick Chat for all of users to use. If this is something your really need and can’t implement your self I can do it for you for a fair donation for this extra work.

    Regards,
    Marko

Actually I can understand the logic behind using gravatar.com now, nevertheless a fantastic plugin !!! worthy of 5 stars amazing work on this It blew me away lol
