[Plugin: Quick Cache ( Speed Without Compromise )] Quick Cache & WordPressSEO XML Sitemap 404

  • From WordPress SEO by Yoast, “Why do I get a 404 when opening the sitemap_index.xml file?
You probably have W3 Total Cache active, that is preventing 404 errors for static files to go through to WordPress. Update to the latest version of W3 Total Cache or add, under the browser cache page, this exemption:
    sitemap(_index|[0-9]+)?\.xml”

Where is the equivalent of the browser cache page, so I may add the exemption?

  • in quick cache, browser cache is “client-side cache” and it’s off by default. Also, there are no options on which files to be cached and which files not to cache, so just leave it turned off and use something else for browser caching.
