Quick Cache (Speed Without Compromise)
[Plugin: Quick Cache ( Speed Without Compromise )] Not working with WPtouch (6 posts)

    Hi there,

I really like the Quick Cache-Plugin. It's easy and it works right out of the box and what a performance gain.

I have Quick Cache installed on a Multisite and am using the WPtouch-plugin. Now I recently recognized that Quick Cache doesn't distinguisch between "Desktop" and "Mobile"-Users.
Which leads to the following problem:
If a "mobile" user gets http://www.xyz.com/mypage the layout is rendered for "mobile" view and put in the cache.
If a "desktop" user is now reading the same page, he gets the cached file and also sees the mobile-version.

Does anyone have the same issue?
And moreover: is there a solution for that?
    Currently I deactivated WPtouch.

Thanks again for this otherwise really cool plugin

Yes, having the same issue. There is a more recent post about using SuperCache and modifying the settings, but that's too complicated for me to understand so I have simply made this plug-in (QuickCache) inactive. Great otherwise

    Same issue ...

Is WPTouch really necessary ? Everyone says it's a must-have.

One work-around is to go into Quick Cache Options, scroll down to No-Cache User-Agent Patterns, and enter "iPhone" (and possibly "iPad") -- each on its own line and without the double-quotes -- to disable caching for those devices. It means page-loads on those devices may be slightly slower, but at least the pages will be displayed correctly.

I've switched back to the latest W3 Total Cache, perfect with WP-Touch, no more seeing Mobile screen on desktop.

And miles ahead in speed improvement versus Quick Cache, in a shared hosting environment (Bluehost). No contest, IMHO.

I initially dropped W3 Total Cache for Quick Cache, but latest W3 is great.

And I now realize the benefits of WP-Touch, so it has to be installed in my blog.
