  • Firstly, awesome plugin.

I’m trying to use this in conjunction with the Yoast breadcrumb module but the results aren’t ideal. The plugin works perfectly but when a term has been selected the current page section of the breadcrumb lists the title of the first post listed instead of “taxonomy name: term”.

My site isn’t live but as an example I’m using a category called “Movies” with a custom taxonomy “Actors”. With 2 posts, one called “Se7en” and one called “Ocean’s Eleven”, and the taxonomy term “Brad Pitt” under Actors for both:

    • Under the Movies category page with no terms selected the breadcrumbs show Home >> Movies
    • If I select “Brad Pitt” from the widget dropdown and the 2 movie results are loaded the breadcrumb shows Home >> Ocean’s Eleven because that is the first displayed in the list

Ideally this should show Home >> Actor: Brad Pitt as it does when navigating directly to the taxonomy term (www.example.com/actor/bradpitt/). The same thing happens when multiple terms are selected as well. It’s not a massive issue but if you know a way I could work around this I’d greatly appreciate it.

    Pete

EDIT: On second look this behaviour is only exhibited when in a category and the URL is loaded as http://www.example.com/?category_name=movies&actor=bradpitt. If loaded from a normal page the URL is loaded as http://www.example.com/?actor=bradpitt and works correctly.

This has to be taken care of by the breadcrumbs plugin. It will be possible in WP 3.1, since multiple taxonomy queries will be native.
