i thought that adding these two plugins and follwing the directions would be easy and work with my current site theme.

does anyone have experience with either of these plugins or maybe could give me advice on how to get these two to look right within my site design?

    the site is http://www.administry.org

the subscribe feature is on the sidebar and the email is under each post.

    thanks in advance!!

I don’t know anything about wp-email, but with subscribe2, it looks like you need to update it to the latest version. You can find subscribe2 2.2.2 at the author’s website.

With the latest, instead of using subscribe.php, you create a page and place the token for it on that page. Helps to maintain your theme much better.

FruitFly – the subscribe update works great!!

    Thanks for the help.

Now, does anyone know anything about the wp-email??

    Thanks,

In my theme in the <div class="feedback"? section I added:

    <a title="Email this Journal Entry" href="wp-email.php?p=<?=the_ID()?>">[ E-Mail this Journal Entry to a Friend ]</a>

You can see it at http://logoswalk.com/journal/index.php. Hope this helps.

Servant … tried that .. but I think it might be in the “wp-email” itself ..

    I like you site though.

Mind if I link to it?
I am developing this site and hope to have solid, reliable resources for my visitors.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

I am likewise developing another site .. a subdomain to this one .. webadministry.com/ .org/ .net …. if you want to contribute.

the webadministry will more likely be routed to http://web.administry.org

hyperactive: attached me your theme index.php along with your wp-email.php in http://forums.lesterchan.net

I think I should make it a popup window instead.

…if you make a pop-up window can you make that part of the core plugin distribution? I’d like to use it too 🙂

yap it is done already, doing some testing now. LOL

Great, many many thanks! In the end, not having a pop-up window works best, but with the templating problems, this seems like the best all-around solution.

yap, I will include 2 diff function calls, it supports sending multiples emails too.

But Some easy are very easy to put into wp-email.php and some is very difficult.

Is this finished yet? Can we download this? 🙂

finished? you mean the plugin? i am not sure if this will work for your theme or not .. i ahd to post the file to GmaerZ forum, and then he posted the file there ..

worth a shot if you want to try … just save a copy of what you are using now …

    Hello,

I have installed the plugin ( subscribe2 2.2.2 ) and created a wordpress page and put tag <!–subscribe2–> inside the page.

However, i am not seeing any subscribe form where visitors can subscribe to my blog (so that it will send them notification emails every time i have new posts).

Can somebody please help me? thank you very much.
