• I built a WordPress site on my local computer, using Wamp server and installed 10 plugins which all worked perfectly on the local setup. I then went to migrate the site to a live server and while the site looked fine . . . when I went to reactivate some of my plugins, namely Gravity Forms and Lightbox Plus . . . the plugins crashed my dashboard, sending me to a white screen and when I went to go back to the dashboard, via my site url/wp-admin . . . no dashboard, just a white screen. When I deleted the plugin from my plugin folder my dashboard was restored.

I’m puzzled. The local site works beautifully and relies heavily on those two plugins. Why won’t they work on the web server site . . .?

    Thanks

  • Just guessing, but you might have different versions of PHP, or different permissions on some directories.

Bluehost says they’re using PHP 5 . . . what permissions do I need to set?

    Thanks

I don’t know about the permissions. Probably depends on the plugins.

Is your local install using PHP 5?
