plugin problem (3 posts)

I'd appreciate it if anyone could provide some insight with this problem.

The site is http://www.neighbourhub.ca using the Catalyst theme...

It was working fine until about a week ago, when the friend was having trouble
installing a capcha plugin, which he was able to install easily on another site, which is hosted by the same company (1and1).

Currently, no plugins can be installed on the site. On my Mac I get this error:

An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

On his PC, my friend gets an error about "php curl". Neither one of us understands what that message means...

Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thank you.

you can unzip plugin archive and upload plugin folder into wp-content/plugins folder
    then activate plugin from dashboard.

php curl is an extension for PHP unterpreter to make connectivity with other servers via http, https and bunch of other protocols
wordpress is using curl to fetch data from external servers,
contact your web host support to ask about curl not working.

    Hi Yul,

    Thanks for your email.

I will try what you suggested.

(I did contact my web host and they said they have made no changes
    and curl should be working.)

    Thanks again,
