[Resolved] [Plugin: Postie] How hack to activate at fixed times?

  • I get from another program a mail to my email-account every minute, right in the first seconds of every minute. The message at minute 10, 20, 30 etc. is always a certain theme, as it is in 11, 21, 31 etc. I want the article always on top of my wp homepage. Postie downloads now every ten minutes, but the 10 minutes arent exact, so the first article is the second, the third and so on after a while. Who knows how to hack postie.php to solve that problem? My idea is starting Postie always at full hour and x seconds, then every ten minutes …
    Below a code-part of postie.php, I think there is to change or add something … as much as I understand …

    /* here we add some more options for how often to check for e-mail */
    function more_reccurences() {
      return array(
      'weekly' => array('interval' => 604800, 'display' => 'Once Weekly'),
      'twiceperhour' => array('interval' => 1800, 'display' => 'Twice per hour '),
      'tenminutes' =>array('interval' => 600, 'display' => 'Every 10 minutes')

    WordPress cron can’t do what you are asking for so there is no sense in changing the scheduling code.

    You could create a page that you call at exactly the right time with a cron job that just includes the Postie page get_mail.php
