 * There is not, and I don’t have any plans to make one (sorry) – perhaps there’s
   a plugin to notify you when a new post is created?

 * Just searching for such a plugin and found this thread.
    I just checked Subscribe2–
   [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe2/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe2/)
   and it works like a charm: an email is sent to a subscriberlist (simply enter
   the admin) whenever a post ist published.
