Support » Plugins » [Plugin: podPress] Separating multiple podcasts on page

  • Hey all,

I have a Podcasts ( page on my website, where I want all of the podcasts to be available. This is an alternative to having 1 podcast on each post, and having a user click through 10 different posts to listen to 10 different podcasts.

I created the page and, through the podPress options, added 10 podcasts to the page by uploading each media file. Everything works, but it looks a little unattractive due to there not being much space vertically in between each podcast player. Is there a way I can edit where and how the podcasts line up? I’d like to be able to put a short description about each in between them. Maybe like:

    *text here*

and so on… Let me know if anyone has any alternatives or ideas. They would be much appreciated!

    Thanks all,

  • Hi John,

using multiple place-holders like you suggest is currently not possible with podPress.
Further it is not a good idea to add all media files to one page like to a post. A better idea is to add to the podcast posts a certain category (or tag) and use a category page to display a list of all the podcasts. This way you would get for instance those page numbers at the end of the page to navigate to older posts with podcast episodes.
One way to do that is with the help of the WP Menus (Appearance > Menus).
Another way which requires some PHP skills is to create a new, further category page template for your theme (see The new template would allow you to display posts of more than one category.
If your blog includes primarily podcast posts then you might consider modifying the index.php file, so that the front page shows only podcast posts and a category page shows the non-podcast posts. Read more about that:
