  • Hello,
I asked the same thing some time ago and the answer was no.
    Here is the thread
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/premium-podcast-feed-under-category-feed?replies=4

I’m going to start reading up on powerpress, it might offer this option.

It appears that adding /premium at the end of the feed for the category creates the premium cat.

Tim hasn’t gotten back to us, but it appears this is possible.

You are right I was able to test it in iTunes and it did ask me for a password.
Are you having any issues with logging in?

We are talking about such issues here

If you are able to login in to the premium feed could you help us figure it out?

I’m sorry that have not responded so far. I have read the threads but I have still no answers. I have unfortunately not much time to work on podPress and resaerch complicated problems and questions. … and questions about the Premium feature of podPress are difficult questions for me. I have not much experience with this part of the code and the usage of this feature.
I’m currently very busy with my day job and that will be that way for the next 3-4 months. That is why I postpone some bug fixes concerning e.g. the statistics and the premium feature and also new things like a file picker dialog.

I’m sorry that I’m not very helpful at the moment. But I will bookmark this thread for me and try to give you an answer later.

    You know-

I’ve kind of moved on. The only thing I really need an answer on is Podtrac stats. This obviously the way to go for good premium stats, as the Podpress stats are super basic.

In the panel it says you can implement them, but I’m unsure if that means I still have to put the re-direct URL from podtrac or if you placed that in the code to work by itself. I’ve heard that disabling Podpress stats is what some people did, but I don’t want to do that if I don’t have to.

Thanks. Looks like you and I are both doing two jobs!

    Dear drezac,
Have you found a solution or just dropped trying to implement premium feeds?

    @ntm

    Daniel,

if you activate the Podtrac 3rd-party statistics support in podPress then the plugin will redirect the request to an URL which has this scheme:
http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp3? + the real URL of the media file.
That should be sufficient. You don’t need to add something else.
But this Podtrac support in podPress works only if activate the podPress statistics.

@daniel: You might want try the Development Version. It will help with some problems of the Premium Content feature see http://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-members-itunes-responds-with-login-error-to-every-user
