• Podpress 8.8.8.4 and now 8.8.8.5 have been returning “Invalid Argument” errors on my blog when attempting to access the podcast’s feed.

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/podpress/podpress.php on line 715

ERROR: podcast is not a valid feed template.

I’ve been using mysite.com/?feed=podcast for my iTunes podcast feed for two years, and only with these last two releases has Podpress stopped working for me, or at least caused issues with my feed.

    Please help!

  • Please, make sure that the podPress Feed with the slug name “podcast” exists and is activated and (re-)save the Permalink settings of your blog after you have activated/deactivated or modified the slug name of a podPress Feed (and maybe after an upgrade to 8.8.8.x).

The mysite.com/?feed=podcast (or mysite.com/feed/podcast) Feed was always an additional Feed to your WordPress blog. But since podPress 8.8.8.x you have the possibility to customize this and all the other Feeds. But the “podcast” Feed in the podPress Feeds section of the Feed/iTunes Settings page of podPress is not a further additional Feed. It is the mysite.com/?feed=podcast Feed.

I’ve done that (activated the podcast slug feed and re-saved my permalinks). Still having the issue.

I am also receiving the following error when trying to visit http://www.mysite.com/?feed=podcast

XML Parsing Error: junk after document element
    Location: http://www.mysites.com/?feed=podcast
Line Number 2, Column 1:<b>Warning</b>: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in <b>/home/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/podpress/podpress.php</b> on line <b>715</b>

This error message is a minor bug of podPress. I have added a bug fix to the current Development Version. It would be great if you could test that version.

But I’m very sure that the other message “ERROR: podcast is not a valid feed template.” is a sign that there is no active Feed with the Slug Name “podcast” and if you still receive that message, control the Slug Names of your podPress Feeds.
