Thanks for your suggestion. I’ll work on it to launch this option on the next version 🙂

    additional suggestions:

Animated pin it button, perhaps a slide in, or fade to make it noticeable that its there when the cursor passes over it.

option to make it always visible or partially visible and animate it to be fully visible.

ability to choose the image or set an image from a url for the button.

area to add css alterations or suggestions on what css tags to use in our own templates for customization.

pull image descriptions from the alt tag of the image, so when uploading images and putting in the details and descriptions it will be used for the pin.

pin counts to see how many times it has been pinned already beside the button.

thanks for your work on this, its like others have said, the only one that works and would love more options and features for sure.

    thanks again

alterations to your plugin on this site: http://ruffledblog.com/

just checking in to make sure you had seen my previous post 6 days ago.

Yes PLEASE, have it open in a new window! That would be fabulous! Love this plug in 🙂

Would also love some different options for the actual plug in button that appears. Is there a way to create our own and use that? Thanks again!

Ryan: your modifications are beautiful! How did you manage to get it to open in a new window? Was it something I could potentially attempt myself (I’m not the best at this coding business but I try!).

@girathryn: Unfortunately they are not my alterations to the plugin, but they are an example of what others have done with it.

how do we steal the alterations on the ruffledblog.com that make it open in a new window…
    Anyone know? : )

    Hey all,

I’m launching a new version with some major improvements (such as opening in a new window). Thanks for all the suggestions – I’ll work on some new changes for future versions!

    Cheers.

    Quick edit:
Version 0.3 allows to open links in a new window.
The next version will allow the user to select a different Pin It button (and many other changes), so keep your plugin always up-to-date.

    Thanks all!

I just upgraded to the latest version and now I’m getting this error after moderating a comment in my admin panel:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/acookin/public_html/amandascookin.com/wp-content/plugins/pinterest-pin-it-button-for-images/xc_pinterest.php:53) in /home/acookin/public_html/amandascookin.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866

It was working fine before I upgraded, any ideas?

    @amandascookin,
Please update to 0.3.1 to solve this bug.

Perhaps you didn’t read my post? I JUST upgraded to your latest version (0.3.1) and NOW I’m getting this error message. So the upgrade is actually causing this problem as it was fine right before that. I had to deactivate your plugin. Please let me know when this is corrected. Thanks!

    @amandascookin
That is odd. I’ve checked the version you currently have installed:
    http://amandascookin.com/wp-content/plugins/pinterest-pin-it-button-for-images/readme.txt

The stable tag in that file is 0.3. We had some issues regarding that version, that’s why I updated it hours after with a 0.3.1 version. Your WordPress should warn you that the plugin needs updating. That should fix the problem.

    Cheers.

I have already updated it to the new version. When I did, my caching program told me I needed to empty the cache (which it always says after I update a plugin). When I tried to empty the cache, I got the error message above. So all I can think of is you are seeing a cached version of the readme file. I just tried reactivating the plugin and received this message in my dashboard:

The plugin generated 1 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

Interesting… now I see there’s ANOTHER message that says there’s a new version available. I had already upgraded and that message was not there yesterday, so maybe the upgrade didn’t work completely? I don’t know, but I just upgraded again and it seems to be working ok! Thanks 🙂

    Phew…I’m glad that it worked!

    Cheers.
