Yes, you can show the album names using Settings → Photonic → Picasa → Picasa Photos – “In-page” View → Photo Title Display

In Picasa Photos – “In-page” View there is a shortcode
[gallery type='picasa' user_id='abc'] do i have to use that to make it work and how do i use it.

In Photo Title Display i im using (Below the thumbnail)

Before I whine about the problem I’m having, I just want to tell you that I really think photonic is the best and easiest to use photo plugin I’ve come across – I love it!

I am having a hard time getting photonic to display the album names in the page I’m setting up for a school: http://coquihallaschool.com/?page_id=70 I’ve tried all of the options in the plugin settings to no avail – the only thing that seems to change is the aspect ratio of the thumbnails. I’m going to leave it as is for now, but I would appreciate help. Thanks!

The option I have specified above works for sure. I have titles displaying upon hover here: http://aquoid.com/news/plugins/photonic/picasa/picasa-albums/

Can you show me were to insert the code.

    ??
You will insert it in your post just like any other shortcode, but the sample in the options page is just an example. The real shortcode is generated when you click on the “Media Upload” icon as shown here.

    I’m using these shortcodes:

    [gallery type='picasa' user_id='112098002989041708978' kind='album' thumbsize='75']

    [gallery type='picasa' user_id='coquihalla.elementary']

One of these was generated by using the insert media button and one I typed in using the format on the photonic website.

    At this site:
    http://coquihallaschool.com/?page_id=70

I can see on the bottom of the screen a grey box with a link. Here’s an example:

Still no album names. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

    Still no album names.

But I am seeing “Storybook Day” on your site. Isn’t that an album name?

Ah – I’ve figure it out! I added an “album description” in picasa – and that is what appears as the title. On my other site, where I use Flickr the album title appears no problem. With picasaweb, I need to add an “album description” – something that it says is optional – your plugin is pulling the album description, not the title. This works for me. Thanks.

Now that I’ve added titles, the thumbnails are no longer evenly spaced. Is there a way to space them evenly? Thanks for your help.

You could elect to display a “tooltip” style title. Alternatively you could add this to your stylesheet:
    .photonic-picasa-image a span { width: 100px !important; }
