• I am using 2.9.2 and I can add a contest and update settings, but when I click view photo contest it says “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”Also, before I upgraded to 2.9.2. I was using WP 2.9.1 Think and every time I updated my settings nothing would save. For example I would switch visible upload to false, I would save it, and then it wouldn’t save. When I went back it would still be on true. This was the same for some of the other settings I think.

Also I did notice that next to N_PHOTO_X_PAGE: the last line says “Defines the number of picutes per page” which picutes I think should be pictures. I think I saw another spelling error but it doesn’t really matter. I think the idea for the plug in is great, and before I upgraded I was having fun playing around with it. I really would like to put it on my site.

Thanks for making an awesome plug in, I hope you can fix these problems.

  • Hi,

I am having the same problem with permisions. Same 2.9.2. Anyone can help?

i All. Did anyone at all found a solution for that? im facing the same issue.

    Hello all,

Sorry for the long delay and not responding.
    (Been overloaded with work ;(

I haven’t tested the plugin with WP 2.9.2. I think something changed between 2.8.x and 2.9. I will setup a testsite with 2.9.2 and see if I can fix the problem.

    Hi,

I’m having the same probleme with 2.9.2.
I cannot access to the plugin’s configuration.

Vous n’avez pas les droits suffisants pour accéder à la page
(you do not have sufficient permissions to access this page)

I hope you will fix this 😉
    Your plugin look great.

I found a solution for this problem.

Download: http://www.vanderstad.nl/wp-photocontest/photocontest-settings.txt and upload it to the plugin directory as wp-photocontest/photocontest-settings.php (overwrite the current file)

After that, open the PhotoContest –> “Update settings” link.
On top of that page you find a link. Click on it and it will fix the problem!

Please report back (on success or failure!), so I can include it in the next release!

    Hi Frekel,

I still don’t have access to the PhotoContext Page.
    Right stuff…

You can find a screenshot here : http://skitch.com/moshi/n25xg/wordpress-erreur

    Greets,

    Olivier

After clicking the link, is it saying:

    Succes saving PhotoContest fix.

If so, try loggin in as an administrator…
(technically: I add the role manage_photocontest and manage_photocontests to the administrator

    Greets,
    Frank

    Hi Frekel,

Yes, I log in as administrator.
    So, it should work.

I don’t see any link to click on, because i simply cannot access to the PhotoContest page (photocontest-manager.php).
When I click on the link on the bottom of the menu “PhotoContest”, i receive the error message directly, without seeing anything else.

    Greets,

    Olivier

    This fix worked for me.

    Hi oliver,

Try to open the submenu of the plugin and click “Photocontest Settings”. On top of this page you should see a link. This is the link that you should click to fix. If you can’t see the submenu, you can also typ the link directly: http://[YOUR URL HERE]/wordpress/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-photocontest/photocontest-settings.php&do=fixpermissions

    Greets,
    Frank

    @codyhilton: Thanks for reporting back!

Great Frekel ! It works now !!!
    Thank you.

I am having another issue, maybe related, maybe not.

    worpress 2.9.2
    Photocontest 1.4.4

Installed Photocontest and it worked fine. Logged off and checked back later and skin folder that was installed in plugin folder, Aqua, was missing. I checked immediately after install and it was installed along with the plugin. It vanishes after log off. The page and photos uploaded displayed fine and the voting worked until the user leaves the site. I am not running jquery.

    (@visserlabs)

I followed your instructions frekel and refreshed permissions but the issue remains. Ideas?

    frekel

    (@frekel)

@visser.labs: Please try to remove the plugin and reinstall the 1.4.4 version.

Only running contests (when upgrading to 2.9.2) have these permission problems (WordPress changed some things in the 2.9.2 release!)

    Greets,
    Frank

I’m searching for something else but I think I know why this happened.

there was a vulnerability in 2.9.1 that allowed any user (subscriber) to access plugin options by going to wp-admin/admin.php?page=plugin-hook-name

I think the security update to 2.9.2 prevents people with less than admin privileges from accessing a wp-admin/admin.php?page= type of url

now, back to searching for how to let them access certain pages called by admin.php !
