# [Plugin: Password Protect WordPress] Upgrade not taking

 * Hi,
    I see that there’s an update to this plugin. So I downloaded it and updated
   it manually through FTP. At first notice, I see a huge difference in size. From
   under 100kb to over 700kb. I guess a lot of new features were added?
 * But still, there are files that are missing between the two and the upgrade I
   did isn’t taking. It still reads as 3.9.1
 * Any idea what’s up?

 * So do I need to remove the 3.9.1 entirely and upload the new version? Because
   I generally set an overwrite up on files when uploading.

 * It sounds as if removing the old version entirely and then installing the new
   one would be the best way to go about it.

 * The increase in file size is due to the JavaScript libraries used on the admin
   page to make it more intuitive.
